Supercurricular learning refers to academic activities that go beyond the school curriculum and deepen a student’s understanding of a subject. Supercurricular activities are directly linked to the student’s academic interests and help explore them in greater depth.
Supercurricular is highly sought after and strengthens your UCAS application. I have a wealth of experience developing my schools science supercurriculum!
Supercurricular learning strengthens understanding of the curriculum through applying a students learning.
JOURNAL CLUB
Here we read Life Science publications in small focussed groups, analysing the data. These sessions are discussion based seminars and there are opportunities to present a journal article at the end of the 3 term course.
The journal articles we read will prepare you for University study, develop your data analysis to improve your examined A-Level data analysis questions.
The academic papers we discuss would be suitable to form a basis of an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
See the YouTube clip below why I use Supercurricular to extend the thinking in the classroom.
